Aufwuch is a community of micro-organisms (autotrophic or heterotrophic) who live around the submerged substrate, that has an important role in the food chain. This study was conducted at Tempe Lake, South Sulawesi, with the aim is to assess the aufwuch association community to aquatic plants as well as its association with the parameters of physics, chemistry, and biology waters. Sampling was conducted in five observation stations. There are three types of aquatic plants are quite abundant in Tempe Lake, namely the water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica), and Cyperus sp. Aufwuch on Lake Tempe found during the study consisted of three groups, namely mikrofitoaufwuch dominated by groups of Bacillariophyceae (38%), mikrozooaufwuch dominated by Rotifera group (39%), and makrozooaufwuch dominated by a group of crustaceans (90%). Physical-chemical parameters of waters indicates the optimum conditions for growth aufwuch at Tempe Lake, South Sulawesi.
