Karakteristik Payang Gemplo (Seine Net) di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Dadap, Kabupaten Indramayu.

Abstract

Payang gemplo consists of three parts, such as wings, body and bag. Mesh size in the bag is 0,1cm and 0,4 cm, body is 10,5-35 cm and wing is 40 cm. The main catch is an anchovy (Stolephorus sp.) and small pelagic fish. Catching method of payang uses one boat system and fishing operations carried out during the day (one day fishing) with a boat size of 3 to 5 GT. The composition of the catch comprises of anchovy (Stolephorus sp.) as a target catch with 43,73%. While the bycatch consists of other fish 22,74%, such as pony fish (Leiognathus dussumieri) 11,37%, long jawed mackerel (Rastrelliger sp.) 10,2%, sardine (Sardinella gibbosa) 4,90%, hair tail (Trichiurus savala) 2,90%, and pomfret fish (Pampus argentus) and mackerel (Selaroides sp.) each for 2,07%. Based on the analysis of the Shannon-Wiener diversity index indicated value of the index at 1,24 or > 0,1 which means payang gemplo fishing gear in Dadap is categorized low selectivity.
