The high demand and production of yellowfin tuna in Palabuhanratu led to the increasing of yellowfin tuna exploitation and potentially affect the biology and sustainability of fishing effort. This study aims to assess bioeconomy approache based on stock status of yellowfin tuna landed in Palabuhanratu. MEY bioeconomy model results obtained optimal production conditions of 1690 tons/year and the effort of 221 trips/year with economic rent of Rp. 60 billion/year. MSY obtained by 1783/year and the effort of 286 trips/years with economic rents of Rp. 55 billion/year. Open access conditions obtained by the amount of production of 1253 tons/year and the effort of 442 trips/years with economic rent of Rp. 0. Results of this study illustrate that the stock of yellowfin tuna is overexploited both economically (MEY) and biology (MSY).
