Healing garden is one type of green open spaces that has significant roles in relieving stress in the hope to accelerate patient’s healing process. Thus healing garden will be suitable to be applied in hospital’s garden. The problem is many hospitals don’t provide healing garden as their facility despite having a potential garden, like Darmo Hospital and Jemursari Islamic Hospital in Surabaya. The objectives of this research are analyzing people preferences about hospital garden regarding healing garden in general and using the preferences as a primary foundation and literature studies as supporting data to redesign each of the hospital’s garden. The result of the collected data through observation and interview method show that not only patients but also medical personnel agreed to add a healing garden as a support facility in their hospitals. This research resulted two healing garden designs for each hospitals. Both designs fulfill all the criteria, users’ preferences and needs, and also match with the characteristics of both hospitals.
