Keragaman jenis dan aktivitas nyamuk pada Peternakan Sapi di Unit Reproduksi dan Rehabilitasi FKH IPB
Abstract
Mosquitoes are annoying insects because of a noise, blood sucker, transmit pathogens, and trigger allergies in some people. Mosquitoes play a role in the transmission of zoonoses such as JE, RVF, WN, etc. Information about diversity of mosquitoes that play as vectors on zoonoses in Indonesia has limited. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity, population fluctuation, and the activity of mosquitoes at cattle farm in Unit Reproduction and Rehabilitation (URR) Bogor Agricultural University. Mosquitoes was collected by BLC method from 6 pm to 6 am on March to May 2013. There were 104 mosquitoes from 8 times collections, consisted of 7 species Culex (Cx. gelidus, Cx. bitaenorhynchus, Cx. quinquefasciatus, Cx. huchinsoni, Cx. pseudosinensis, Cx. fuscocephalus, Cx. tritaenorhynchus) and one Armigeres (Ar. subalbatus). The dominant species was Cx. gelidus (28.85%) and Ar. subalbatus (17.30%). The highest mosquitoes activity was discovered at 6 pm to 7 pm.
