Pengaruh Sosial Ekonomi Terhadap Perilaku Pengelolaan Sampah Rumah Tangga Kecamatan Sawangan Kota Depok

Abstract

Economic growth and population give negative externalities such as garbage. Household waste is the largest contributor of garbage in Depok. Changes of household waste composition in Sawangan District is affected by social and economic condition. This study aims to (1) determine the characteristics of community in Sawangan (2) determine how much does the socio-economic change the composition of household waste in Sawangan District (3) determine the community behavior to household waste and (4) provide policy recommendations to the local government in waste management. Logistic regression analysis was used to know the opportunities of particular communities condition in producing the organic and the inorganic waste. Furthermore descriptive analysis was used to tell the community characteristics, and their behavior to household waste. Real estate residential tends to produce more inorganik waste than humble and rural residential. The production of real estate residential’s wastes are dominated by inorganic waste which are 55,19 % compared by organic waste which are 44,81 %. Higher education level and higher household income does not affect the household behavior in waste management. The government of Sawangan district is expected to create a new system such as advocacy to the people about household waste management and gives incentives as TPS building and capital for environmental activities
