Building visitors typology based on disturbance types is important for tourism planning in protected area. Research was conducted in Pananjung Pangandaran in June 2014. Disturbances that were observed include: flower picking, mushroom collection, wood burning, wildlife feeding, chasing monkey, sand dredging, collections of various marine life including coral, shell, fish and other marine creatures. A direct relationship could be observed between visitor characteristics and types of disturbances. The results emphasized the importance of age class, visitor group, main motivation for visiting, visit frequency and time spent in an area. The sub-characteristics of these characteristics varied with primary attractions, i.e beach and open area. Visitor typology in Pananjung Pangandaran based on disturbance types in beach area were player, family, beach visitor, first timer and long stay types, while for open area comprised of active enjoyment of nature type, friends, comfortable naturalist, frequent and long stay types.
