Pengelolaan Limbah Tanaman Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) di Kebun Manggala-1, PT. Tunggal Mitra Plantation, Minamas Plantation, Provinsi Riau
Abstract
The internship was conducted at Manggala-1 Estate, Minamas Plantation, Riau Province from February 10th until June 10th 2014. The aim of this internship was to improve technical and managerial skill. It was conducted using direct method (doing all practice in estate, field observation, and discussion with estate employee) and indirect method (collect all information, archives and files from estate) with waste management as a specific topic. The utilization of palm oil waste which produced from mill, such as empty fruit bunch (EFB), wet decanter solid (WDS), and palm oil mill effluent (POME), as an organic fertilizer and mulch could stimulate plant growth. In this internship, writer observed the effectivity of organic waste land application in Manggala Estate especially EFB and POME application. Overall, palm oil waste utilization could prevent environmental damage and also reduce chemical fertilizer used.
