Analisis Pendapatan dan Kelayakan Usaha Akar Wangi di Kecamatan Samarang Kabupaten Garut

Abstract

Vetiver is one of plantation sub-sector with a huge potensial to be developed which have share of the world market at a price level is quite high. The subdistrict Samarang is one of vetiver production centers located in Garut district of West Java Province. Vetiver farming in the District of Samarang has the potencial to earn huge profits, because the area has the land and the weather is suitable for the cultivation of vetiver. But in 2013, the vetiver farming in Garut decline in production which resulted in the revenue of vetiver business decreases. The purposes of the research are to analyze the performance of vetiver and to analyze income and feasibility of businesses vetiver The result of the study showed that the farmers and refiners have not implemented appreciate cultivation and distillation techniques Good Agriculture Proccessing (GAP) and Good Maifacturing Practices (GMP). Business actors vetiver consists of farmer, distiller, farmerdistiller, farmer-distiller-gatherer and farmer-distiller-gatherer-exporter. The result of the study showed that the highest income bussines acquired by farmerdistiller- gatherer-exporter and the lowest income earned by farmers alone business. Business of vetiver is feasible. Based on the result of the sensitivity analysis, a decrease of vetiver prices, a decrease of vetiver oil prices, an increase fuel prices and an increase of export costs can decrease revenue and unfeasible business of vetiver. Use of quality seeds, an increase production and an increase capacity of raw materials can increase revenue businesses vetiver.
