      Abstract
      Internship have been done at Padang Halaban Estate PT SMART Tbk, North Sumatera. Internship carried out for 4 months starting from February 2014 until June 2014. The objective of internship are to improve knowledge and skills in analyzing and understanding the various problems in the process of oil palm nurseries, technical aspects and managerial of oil palm plantation. Oil palm nursery at Padang Halaban Estate of PT SMART Tbk used ramet or zygotic embryos Dami Mas variety as a source for seedling. After 4 month observation, Dami Mas’s seedlings have the highest percentage of survival rate compared to PPKS variety. At pre nursery, it was 98.21 %. This is the indicator that Dami Mas’s seedling have a good quality as a seedling source. The vegetative growth seedlings of ramet at main nursery have average of high, diameter of stem, and number of midrib are higher than growth standard of companies seedling or standard of PPKS seedling. The result of seedling selection showed that abnormal seedlings were selected as much as 14.89% in main nursery.
