Pemetaan Gunung Bawah Laut Menggunakan Multibeam Echosounder dan Identifikasi Adanya Hydrothemal Vent
Abstract
Hydrothermal vent is an interesting phenomenon at seabed. Hydrothermal vent was formed, when mineral discharged from the earth and rise to the surface of chimney. The aim of this research is to map bathymetry at the site of seamount at West Kawio, North Celebes using multibeam echosounder and verification hydrothermal vent using Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CTD). Data from INDEX-SATAL 2010 Expedition was used in this research. Data Processing multibeam use MB-System and computed using the Generic Mapping Tool (GMT) to get seafloor topography visually and distribution of amplitude values. The peak of seamount lies in depth of ±1870 m and foothills in depth of ±5000 m. The results shows, amplitude range at -23,60 to -4,02 dB. Anomalies can be found in range from 1610 - 1820 m of depth, where there was a change in Ligth Scattering Sensor (LSS) dan Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) voltage.
