Pengelolaan Pembibitan Karet (Hevea brassiliensis Muell Arg.) di Kebun Riset Balai Penelitian Sembawa, Sumatera Selatan

Abstract

Internship activities was undertaken to improve the knowledge, skills, and field experience, and aims to determine the rubber nursery management and technique specialy about rubber seedling. Internship activities carried out at the Rubber Research Sembawa, South Sumatra from February to June 2014. Urusan Bahan Tanam (UBT) is combination between nursery and Prossesing Unit oil palm seeds (UPKS), so UBT has its own organization structure. Production planning of nursery is still constrained by the limitation land of rootstock, so that planning have to wait rejuvenation old rubber. Grafting is one of rubber propagation activities. Oculator capacity to perform of grafting already compliant but grafting success rate still low was 73.3%. The quality of rootstock and scion are good, but the rootstock have bad quantity because limitation of land. Certification activities conducted by the Board of Certification and Crops Plantation. The proccess purchasing of rubber seedling direcly in UBT office or in marketing departement of Rubber Research Sembawa can be done. Consument have to pay 30% advance money from all payment of rubber and transportation of seed were provide by the consumers
