      Abstract
The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence and intensity of gastrointestinal helminth infections on the dairy cattle in Kecamatan Pangalengan, Kabupaten Bandung. Fecal samples were collected from 120 cows in 3 Komda and examined with Mc Master and sedimentation filtration modification method to detect the presence of worm eggs and determine the numbers of egg per gram of feces (EPG). Risk factors associated with farm management were obtained by questionnaires through direct interviews with farmers. The results showed that of the 120 examined fecal samples, as many as 34 of fecal samples were positive (28.3%) infected with nematode. There were 30 samples (25%) positive to Strongyle, and 4 samples (3.3%) positive to Trichuris spp. The EPG Strongyle was 106.63±105.65 and EPG Trichuris spp. was 105±95.74 which was catagorized as ligth infection. The highest prevalence of Strongyle infection was seen in the age group <6 months (50%), whereas the highest prevalence Trichuris spp. was seen in the age group 6-12 months (12.5%). Based on location, the highest Strongyle prevalence was found in Komda Mekar Mulya (27.5%), and the highest Trichuris spp. prevalence was found in Komda Padahurip (7.5%).
