Abstract

Drill is a traditional planter which use human power. Usually, after making the planting hole with the drill followed by planting seeds in the existing hole manually. The latest technology has made multifunction drill that made planting holes as well as doing the other work such as putting seed and fertilizer in the same hole and same time. However it is made for limited using especially seed crops and it has not been used for mass utilization.Depending that condition, it can be modified again with a wider converage and can be used to the other seed types. The problem can be solved by using a drill which has more drill eye varies according the size of the required seeds. The tool consists of a towing in the top part, as well as a container for the seed drill rod and eyes discharge for the seed out way. The drill stem height is around 100 cm with the diameter is around 5 cm. The drill eyes height is around 7 cm. That size is based on the height average of Indonesian people. The storage capacity of the seed drill as much as 1271.7 cm3. Hopefully, by making and using semi mechanical drill can aid the small scale farmers as well as to assist agriculture teaching and learning activities.
