      Abstract
The addition of organic matter can be provide a positive effect on soil chemical, physical, and biological properties. This research was aimed to (1) learn the effect using of organic fertilizers to growth and production of rice, (2) learn the effects of organic fertilizer on several chemical soil properties, and (3) obtain optimum dosage based on farming analysis of rice in Cangkurawok, Bogor. The treatments provided in this research include: control, goat manure 5000 kg/ha and commercial organic fertilizer dose of 250, 500, 750, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, and 5,000 kg/ha. Components observed were consisted of vegetative and generative growths, production, and chemical soil properties. The results indicated that addition of organic manure and commercial fertilizer have no significant effect on the growth of rice plants. On the contray, the treatments have significant effect on rice production. Commercial organic fertilizer provides increased production higher than manure. In general, organic fertilizer treatments did not significantly affect the chemical soil properties, except for pH and P-Bray I, which are significantly increased, and the P-HCl which is significantly decreased. Farming analysis indicates that 500 kg/ha commercial organic fertilizer treatment is the optimum dosage (R/C of 2.02).
