      Ekstrak secang berukuran nano dengan kaolin Sebagai pembawa

      Abstract
      Sappanwood extracts reported had antiacne activity with brazilin as active component. To develop antiacne formula from sappanwood extract, nanoparticle sappanwood with kaolin nanosize as carrier was developed. Carrier used was montmorillonite yellow, brown montmorillonite, yellow kaolin from Cicalengka, white kaolin from Cicalengka, kaolin from Bangka Belitung, and kaolin from Wonosari. The best carrier for active components of Sappanwood was selected based on UV-Vis spectroscopy, thin layer chromatography, liquid chromatography tinggi.dan performance antijerawat activity test. The most potent kaolin as Sappanwood carrier was kaolin from Bangka Belitung with percent inhibiton of DPPH scavenging reaction about 78% at 50 mg kaolin.
       
      Ekstrak kayu secang (Caesalpinia sappan) dilaporkan memiliki aktivitas antijerawat dengan senyawa aktif brazilin. Untuk mengembangkan formula antijerawat dari ekstrak kayu secang dikembangkan sediaan ekstrak secang berukuran nano dengan kaolin yang telah berukuran nano sebagai pembawa. Pembawa yang digunakan yaitu montmorilonit kuning, montmorilonit coklat, kaolin asal Cicalengka berwarna kuning, Kaolin asal Cicalengka berwarna putih, kaolin asal Bangka Belitung, dan kaolin asal Wonosari. Keberhasilan penjerapan bahan aktif kayu secang pada berbagai pembawa ditentukan menggunakan spektroskopi UV-Vis, kromatografi lapis tipis, kromatografi cairan kinerja tinggi.dan uji aktivitas antijerawat. Kaolin yang dapat menjerap bahan aktif dengan baik ialah kaolin yang berasal dari Bangka Belitung dengan persen inhibisi reaksi oksidasi DPPH sebesar 78% pada 50 mg kaolin berekstrak secang 10 kali pengenceran
