Dampak Perkembangan Toko Modern Terhadap Kinerja Pedagang Produk Pertanian Pada Pasar Tradisional di Kota Bekasi
Abstract
Modern stores have been present in major cities in Indonesia since last three decades. With the rapid growth of the ritail sector, in 1998, Indonesia made a deal with the IMF that foreign ritelers can freely invest in Indonesia. This has led to the perception that traditional markets are the real victims of the ritail sector competition which leads to reduced consumer due to modern shops can provide advantages that can not be provided by traditional markets such as convenience, product quality and safety. Traditional market traders who sell the majority of agricultural products are in danger because these commodities are also a large part of product line supermarkets and hipermarkets. This study aimed to analyze changes of agricultural products trader performance in traditional markets as the growing number of modern stores in Bekasi and the factors that influence changes of revenue and profits traders of agricultural products. Results of paired t-test showed that there are a change in their respective markets of the variables revenue, profit, operating hours, circulation of goods, number of buyers, the number of customers and the number of employees experiencing. At the revenue variable, real influential factors are a gender dummy, education level, number of kiosk, spacious kiosk, main commodity is rice dummy and main commodity is fresh fruits and vegetables dummy. At the profit variable, real influential factors are a gender dummy, level of education, trading experience, number of kiosk, spacious kiosk and location dummy.
