Daya Saing, Hambatan Non-Tarif dan Faktor-Faktor yang Memengaruhi Ekspor Kayu Lapis Indonesia ke Negara Tujuan Ekspor Utama

Abstract

Plywood is one of Indonesian potential forest product.This is indicated by the national productivity of plywood is the greatest among the other forest products. The high productivity of plywood would increase the export volume. However, the lower tariff barrier the higher non-tariff barrier in trade. Based on this fact, the objectives of this research are : to analyze competitiveness of Indonesian plywood toward destination countries in 2010-2012 using RCA method, to analyze the factors which affect Indonesia plywood export in 2001-2011 using gravity model, and to calculate the value of non-tariff barrier of Indonesian plywood in destination countries. The secondary data which use in this research are from UN Comtrade, CEPII, IMF, UNCTAD and TRAINS. The result of RCA calculation shows the strong competitiveness Indonesian plywood. The gravity model result shows affecting factors of plywood export are real GDP, CPI, economic distance, exchange rate, and financial global crisis in 2010. Meanwhile, the result of calculation shows EU countries such as United Kingdom and Belgium have the largest value of non-tariff barrier. SVLK (Indonesia timber product legality) is indicated as one solution of Indonesian government to face non-tariff barrier in export destination countries.
