      Abstract
Trees is one of the vegetation that can be an attraction in landscape. Some trees show a strong character in color which is presented by flower. Nowadays, information and studies about the types of trees and flowering period is still limited. One of the studies that can be conducted to determine the time of flowering periode is phenology. This study aims to determine the flowering period of trees and the application in site design. The study was conducted for 6 months using 10 species of trees from the different types of families. This study used a grid method to count percentage of coverage flowers in the canopy and linear regression method to determine the relation between flowering periode and climatic factors. Based on the results, Samanea saman and Tabebuia caraiba showed there is a significant influence of climate factors to flowering percentage. The result of this study showed the flowering of S. saman is significantly influenced by climatic factors, such as maximum-minimum temperature difference, daylight, and frequency of rain. The increasing of the temperature difference between minimum and maximum and daylight tends to increase flowers percentage of S. Saman, whereas the increasing of percentage frequency of rain tend to decrease it. Flowers percentage of T. caraiba also significantly influenced by daylight. The increasing of daylight tend to increase it flowers percentage. The final product of this study is a recommendation of application of flowering trees in a site design.
