      Abstract
      Crops and vegetables are prospective commodities to be developed in the future because of its increasing demands. Pests and diseases become one of main problems in increasing plant’s productivity. Farmer and communities as farming actors need knowledge about integrated pest management to reduce pesticides dependence. This study aims at analyzing and obtaining information on knowledge, attitude and action of respondents in controlling pests and diseases in Bantar Kambing village and Pasir Gaok village, Rancabungur sub-district, Bogor, research was conducted from September to November 2013. The study were conducted by direct structured and unstructured interviews to 40 respondent farmers. Region were determined directly based on crops and vegetables location. Pests and diseases observation was conducted by observing types of pests, diseases, and symptoms. Most of the farmers were more than 40 years old and had been farming for 22 years with educational background of elementary school. Averages of land ownership status are owned by farmers and other part is only as a labour. About 20 percent of farmer have participatedon SLPHT training. The farmers who have never participated on training was a factor in farmers lack of knowledge. Despite of less knowledge on integrated pest management (IPM), farmers implemented plants rotation technique and mulching in plants cultivation. Most of farmers believed in and still using chemical pesticides to reduce pests and diseases on field even though they knew it was harmful to the environment and farmers
