Rancang Bangun Inkubator Menggunakan Lampu Bohlam sebagai Sumber Panas
Abstract
Temperature and relative humidity is an important aspect in the incubator to incubate chicken eggs. Optimal hatching temperature is in the range 37-38 ˚C while the relative humidity in the range 55-70 %. To get both optimization, testing the distance between the heat source and the surface of the egg is hatched, and examine the effect of the availability of water in the incubator. Tested distance is 5 cm and 10 cm. The heat source used is a 5 watt light bulb as much as 9 pieces. A digital thermostat temperature controller is used to stabilize the temperature in the incubator. At a distance of 10 cm with the test conditions produced a tray filled with water temperature and relative humidity ranges that correspond to the target. By using such treatment, as many as 49 chicken eggs put in the incubator for 21 days. The temperature at the time of hatching obtained an average of 37.5 ˚C with a relative humidity of an average of 61.4 %. Screening is done manually eggs 3 times a day starting from day 4 to day 18 of hatching period. Of the 49 eggs that hatched, as many as 6 eggs did not hatch so generated hatchability of 87.8 %.
