Perbandingan Distribusi Otot Kambing Kacang dan Peranakan Etawah pada Bobot Lepas

Abstract

A total of 43 goats which consist of 27 kacang goats and 16 peranakan etawah goatswas used to evaluate the comparison of muscle distribution between kacang goat and PE goat slaughtered over the weight 10 Kg. The data of body components was analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) while muscle of distribution and other body components were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) with slaughter weight, half carcass weight as a covariable. The result showed that groups of muscles and body components among these breeds were no significantly different (P>0.05). There were no significantly differences among breeds in muscles of groups except the percentages of muscles of groups 3 and the muscles of groups 5. There were no significantly differences among breeds in body components except inter muscle fat weight, subcutan fat weight, inter muscle fat percentage, subcutan fat percentage, and kidney fat percentage. In general, the major muscles groups percentage (groups 1+3+5) in kacang goat is 60.35% and 60.71% for peranakan etawah goat.
