Kajian Histopatologi Hati, Paru-Paru, dan Ginjal Sapi yang Terinfeksi Coxiella burnetii di Rumah Potong Hewan Terpadu Kota Bogor

Abstract

Query fever (Q fever) is a zoonotic disease caused by Coxiella burnetii. Domestic ruminants are considered to be the main reservoir of Q fever. The transmission of this disease usually by aerosol and ingestion. This research was aimed to describe and compare the histopathology on liver, lung, and kidney of cattle infected by C. burnetii using Immunohistochemistry and Hematoxylin Eosin staining. This research used 50 samples and each sample consisted of liver, lung, kidney, heart, and spleen was carried out from February to October 2013 at Bogor slaughterhouse. The result showed that we found 5 samples out of 50 samples were positive infected with C. burnetii Imunohistochemically. Histopathological lesions found like focus inflammation, congestion, haemorrhage, fibrosis, focus necrosis, emphysema, pleuritic, and interstitial pneumonia in positive Q fever samples. Similar histopathological changes were also found in negative Q fever samples.
