Pemanfaatan Paclobutrazol dalam Budidaya Gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii) sebagai Tanaman Hias Pot

Abstract

Researchutilization ofpaclobutrazolincultivationof gerbera(Gerbera jamesonii) asornamental pot plant was conducted at plantation of Highland Park Bogor Hotel in April to August 2013. The objective of the research was to get the best concentration of paclobutrazol on growth and flowering of gerbera flowers in pots.Research using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments paclobutrazol : control (P0), 20 ppm (P1), 40 ppm (P2), and 60 ppm (P3). The research results showed that application of paclobutrazol can be seen in the growth of vegetative phase such as plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width and number of tillers. Paclobutrazol affected the ideal proportion of gerbera’s plant in pot such as comparison between plant height with pot height and plant canopy diameter with the diameter of pot. The application of paclobutrazol inhibit generative phase on gerbera plants such as time the first flower buds appear , the number of flowering plants, the diameter of flower and the diameter of the flower stalk.
