Tangerang Regency has considerable potential in aquaculture sector. The most prominent aquaculture product in Tangerang Regency is milkfish. Amount of milkfish production was increasing in 2010-2011 period, which was scattered in 29 sub districts, one of them is in sub district Teluknaga, precisely located in Tanjung Pasir Village. The objectives of this research are to identify the characteristics of the aquaculture, the production influencing factors, and resources optimization. Furthermore, this research also leads to asseses the contribution of aquaculture sector and the economic impact to Tangerang Regency and to society. The methods used in this research are Cobb-Douglas production function, Optimization analysis, Location Quotient Analysis, and Multiplier analysis. The factors which significantly influence the milkfish aquaculture production are fishmeal, milkfish fingerling, labor of maintenance, and area of the fishpond. Based on Cobb-Douglas production function, the optimal usage production rate per hectare per cropping season in the milkfish aquaculture in Tanjung Pasir Village consists of 519,699 kilograms milkfish fingerlings; 1157,632 kilograms fishmeals; 234,801 kilograms fertilizers; 93,491 HOK labor of maintenance; and 3,3 hectare. The estimated profit at the optimal level is about Rp. 19.516.800 per hectare per cropping season. Milkfish aquaculture area in Tanjung Pasir has contributed to the economy of Tangerang Regency and economic impact to local communities. Moreover, its contribution considerable because the Location Quotient value is greater than 1 and Keynesian Income Multiplier value is 0,06.
