Crested serpent eagle is one of raptor species which it existence is threatened by illegal hunting, trading, and habitat degradation. Information about releasing process still categorized as few. This research is conducted at Cikananga Wildlife Center and Takokak Nature Reserve for identifying process and determining factor which decisive for successfull release of crested serpent eagle. Based on this research, crested serpent eagle release phase consist of rehabilitation, transportation, habituation, release, and post release monitoring. Several factors which determine successfull rate of crested serpent eagle release are health aspect, behavior aspect, stress caused by transporting, using of precise release technic, adaptation effort, and survival rate. Crested serpent eagle which released at Takokak nature reserve were able to recognize forest provision, hunt and search for own meal, also avoid human activities.
