Changes in the quality of the forest, including forest degradation, can be estimated by measuring the density of the forest canopy. Forest canopy density (FCD) is influenced by variables such as leaf area index, basal area and stand density. The analysis of Landsat imagery acquired in 1991, 2002 and 2012 showed that FCD in KPH Kuningan area has changed. During the period of 1991- 2002, the decreased FCD was about 206.68 ha, meanwhile 4504.18 ha area has showed an increase. In the period of 2002-2012, the decreased FCD was 1826.72 ha and 3311.82 ha increase. Among the three variables tested, stand density has the strongest association with FCD (R ² = 0.79) and its relation was follow equation Kerapatan Tegakan (KT) = 7.05+4.73FCD. The error accuracy of prediction model was 6.2%, which means that the model has high accuracy
