Pengaruh Kesejahteraan Keluarga terhadap Investasi Anak pada Keluarga Petani
Abstract
Child investment will determine how the quality of children and family welfare in the future. This study is aimed to investigation welfare, money investment, and time investment for children in farmer families and the influencing factors. The study was performed in 100 randomly selected families, whose primary school children with age 6-12 years. The results showed that based on the objective welfare, the farmer families could not be categorized as poor families. Education and health facilities for primary school children are in the middle category. Education expending proportion for primary school children 7.14 percent dan health expending 0.51 percent. On average, the mothers and fathers, respectively, spend 2 hours 3 minutes and 1 hour 29 minutes per day on children care. Logistic regression results showed that the increase of the family size would reduce the family welfare. Furthermore, the results of multiple linear regression revealed that age child increase, long mothers education, price asset increase, and objective welfare would increase spending for money investment. In addition, increasing child age and the objective welfare tend to reduce the time investment. However, we found that longer mothers education will increase the time investment in children.
