Keragaman Jenis Lalat Pengganggu dan Potensi Permasalahannya Pada Ternak Sapi Potong di Daerah Cirebon
Abstract
The aim of this research was to find out the diversity of filth flies on beef cattle in Cirebon, the domination of flies, the correlation of flies density and temperature and humidity, and the risk of disease that can be transmitted by the flies. The filth flies were taken by sweeping net in 18 small husbandries and 1 large husbandry in Cirebon. The data showed that the small husbandries was dominated by S. calcitran (57.19%), while the large husbandry was dominated by H. exigua (97.64%). Correlation of flies density and climate factor (temperature and humidity) were analysed by Minitab 16 only in large husbandry. The coefisient correlation (r) of flies density and temperature r=0.352 on M. domestica and r=0.158 on H. exigua. On the other hand, coefisient correlation of flies density and humidity was r=0.233 on M. domestica and r=0.018 on H. exigua. These result showed that there were no influence of climate factor to flies density fluctuation. The high population of S. calcitrans in small husbandries were potensial to raise Trypanosomiasis and Besnoitiosis cases, whereas population of H. exigua in large husbandry was to raise disease, especially miasis.
