Studi Kasus Infeksi Parasit Darah pada Sapi Potong di Kabupaten Subang, Jawa Barat
Abstract
This study describes prevalence of blood parasites and parasitemia level using blood smear. Result of the experiment of blood samples in 62 cattle from Subang Regency showed a blood parasite infection by Babesia sp., Theileria sp., and Anaplasma sp. The inapposite maintenance management was thought to be main factor causing infection. This supported by hipotesis chi square test which states, that maintenance management relates to prevalence. In this research, also performed calculations average parasitemia to measure level of parasitosis by age level and gender cattle. The calculations show parasitosis level mild because obtained average parasitemia <1%. Statistical tests average parasitemia (Babesia sp., Theileria sp., and Anaplasma sp.) age level significantly different (p<0.05) in calf and adult cattle. By sex were also obtained significantly different results (p<0.05) in bulls and cows for blood parasites Anaplasma sp.
