Pengetahuan, Sikap, dan Tindakan Petani Sayuran dalam Penggunaan Pestisida di Kecamatan Batur, Kabupaten Banjarnegara
Abstract
The use of pesticides in vegetables is done intensively. One strategy in order to reduce the use of pesticides is by implementation of the concept of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) which it has been introduced by government through the Integrated Pest Management Field School (IPMFS). This study aimed to identify differences in knowledges, attitudes, and practices IPMFS and non IPMFS farmers in the use of pesticides, as well as the relation to the characteristics of the farmers. The research data obtained directly by interviews using a structured questionnaire in seven villages in District of Batur, with 105 IPMFS farmers and 105 non IPMFS farmers from February to April 2013. The data was then analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test and chi-square. The results show that there is a difference between knowledges, attitudes, and practices at IPMFS and non- IPMFS farmers, and have relationship with each other. Knowledges and attitudes of non IPMFS farmers, as well as the attitudes of IPMFS farmers have a relationship with the farmer education, while practices IPMFS farmers have a relationship with the land ownership status and total income
