Company, as one of the actors in economic development, should not only to obtain financial gain, but also need to contribute to society and the surrounding environment, especially with regard to socio-economic conditions and local culture, such as life-pattern and livelihood. Thorugh the Decision of Forestry Minister No. 523/Kpts-II/1997, the government requires the holder of IUPHHK to be more concerned with traditional community development efforts those are in and around tHE work area IUPHHK in order to improve their welfare, and this program is known as the Forest Village Community Development (PMDH). PT. Arfak Indra is one of the IUPHHK-HA company- wihch has estblished PMDH program. The success of the program (PMDH) is not only judged by the results of achieved targets, but the more important thing is the socio-economic impact. Therefore it is necessary to do socio-economic anlysis of PMDH activities at surrounding communities of PT. Arfak Indra. The purpose of this study to assess the socio-economic condition of the people, analyze people’s preceptions, and analyze the impact of PMDH. Stage of this study consisted of data collection, respondent selection, data processing and data analysis. Based on the survey results revealed that the PMDH activities positively influence and benefit the community in terms of improving infrastructure, keeping forest preservation, generating society income and welfare, adding konwledge and skills, giving other social assistance such as fuel and fund of building worship place and opening employment.
