Penentuan Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Angka Partisipasi Sekolah dengan Pendekatan Regresi Spasial (Studi Kasus: 26 Kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jawa Barat Tahun 2011)
Abstract
West Java is a province with the largest population in Indonesia which 5.23% of its are high school-age, has a great responsibility to promote education in the region. One of the indicators used to assess educational progress is the School Participation Rate (SPR). The SPR has a spatial effect across the region, so that the method used in this study is Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR). The purpose of this study was to determine the variables which affect the SPR in West Java Province for 2011. The research’s result show that the variables that affect the SPR in West Java Province year 2011 are the ratio of sum of teachers to school-age population (%) and the percentage of poverty. High living cost in the western part of West Java Province led to unequal number of poverty in this province. This problem can affect the SPR so that the percentage of poverty need to be considered to increase the SPR in this region. In the eastern part of West Java Province, the access teacher’s education facilities in this area are difficult, it led to unequal, so that teacher’s education facilities need to be considered to increase the SPR in this region.
