dc.description.abstract | Production target of catfish in Indonesia was up to 35% for 2013 and can be reached by free bacteria infection production including from Edwardsiella tarda. Turmeric (Curcuma longa) has been tested as antibacteria, and so its effectivity to catfish must be tested. The objectives of this research was to test turmeric extract on feed as additive to E. tarda infection on catfish. This research were test some methods to extract turmeric and in vivo test with prevention, curative, and control treatment, also positive and negative control three times for each test then analized with RAL method. The best result was the extraction by decoction for 15 minutes with 7,42 mm of inhibition zone. The bacteria density result of Lethal Dosage 50 (LD50) on catfish was 106 cfu/mL. This bacteria had some clinical signs like swelling, hemoraghic, and body ulcer, also gastroentritis and gas captivy. The best result of the survival rate in vivo test was the curative treatment with 86,67%. Specific Growth Rate, Growth Rate, and Growth of Absolute Length parameters did not differ significantly for each treatments. | en |
