Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the technical performance of kite fishing units and calculate its productivity and financial analysis of the its operation in the Banten waters. This research was conducted using a case study method and data were collected using purposive sampling method. Technical and financial analysis were used. In this research kite fishing units were divided into two groups, namely the kite fishing units with outboard engine and without engine. Kite fishing units consisted of rollers, rods, lines, kites and baits. There was a kolong-kolong which was functioned to catch fish by using another fish named renyok as baits. Profit from kite fishing units with outboard engine was Rp 24.764.500,00 per year, it was higher than the ones without outboard engine which was Rp 6.982.388,89 per year. Kite fishing units were feasible to be developed, as the value of R/C ratio was 2,54 and 1,70; moreover its pay back period was 2 - 3 months
