Analisis Risiko Produksi Usahatani Padi sebagai Dasar Pengembangan Asuransi Pertanian (Kasus: Desa Sukaratu, Kecamatan Gekbrong, Cianjur)

Abstract

Rice is one of the superior agricultural commodities in Indonesia, because the majority of Indonesia's population consumes rice as the main carbohydrate source. Therefore, rice development strategy is needed in addition to increasing the productivity of rice plants, as well as to protect the welfare of farmers as the farm perpetrators from the threat of crop failure risk. Insurance mechanism is one of risk management mechanisms that can protect the welfare of farmers. Sukaratu Village, Sub-district Gekbrong is one of villages in Cianjur that has rice as its agricultural primary commodity. The purpose of this study is to identify the source, probability and risk impact from rice commodity in the village, as well as to determine the ideal premium to be applied in agricultural insurance mechanism. The main source of risk which found in the Sukaratu village is plant pests such as pests and plant diseases, as well as the weather factors. The analysis result using the z-score indicates the probability of the risk by 3.8%. While the results of the analysis using the VaR method shows the impact risk amounted to Rp7 682 020-. Premium value obtained through the method of class rating is Rp390 222.-.
