Potensi Kebakaran Hutan di IUPHHK-HT PT. Wana Subur Lestari Kalimantan Barat

Abstract

Forest and land fire problems have become one of the great issue recently, nationally and internationally. The cause of the fire studied from rainfall rate and fire source in two sides, the in-side which is company and the out-side which is society around concession which related to land clearing. The valuation of potential forest fire in concession area of PT. WSL was so important to be held for preventing forest fire. It can be used as early warning system. Collecting data conducted by indepth interview with the company, and questioner for society in Permata village and Radak II village. The number of respondents are 91 wich are 45 respondents from Radak II village and 46 respondents from Permata village. This research method is snowball method. The result of this research showed that based on the average of rain fall rate per year on 5 years recently is about 3199 mm. It can be concluded that PT. WSL is not prone to get fire. Based on fire source studied, it showed that the company done a land clearing 100% by mechanical tool (using excavator). While the largest potency of fire sources is come from the society in Permata village and Radak village, almost 60% the society in that village still using fire to do land clearing.
