Peran Lembaga Keuangan dalam Peningkatan Pendapatan Nelayan Pemilik Kapal di PPP Lempasing, Provinsi Lampung

Abstract

Capital provider for fishermen consists of formal and non-formal financial institutions. In the last 6 years, fishermen in PPP Lempasing had been utilizing formal financial institutions as a result of the increasing fisheries business. The purpose of this study was to analyze fishermen’s income, to define the correlation between fishermen’s status, both as client or non-client, and their level of income, and to define the characteristic of financial institutions utilized by fishermen in PPP Lempasing. Result showed that the net fishermen’s income of cantrang was Rp20 860 394/month and payang was Rp12 893 958/month. Chi square test showed that there were no relation between fishermen’s status, both as client or non-client, and their levels of income. The most preferred financial institution were formal financial institutions (66.7%), followed by own capital 20.83% and Non-formal 12.5%. The fishermen prefer to borrow from the bank because they can fullfil the minimum requirements.
