dc.description.abstractFOREWORD: Sound collaborative forest management can be achieved through participatory processes, and gain of legal support from government policies such as laws and regulations. Capacity to manage the forest resources requires knowledge on the current status of project sites in terms of both bio-physical and socio-economical aspects. This Technical Report describes general conditions of both bio-physical and socioeconomical aspects of ITTO project sites in Jambi, which is prepared to support Activity 2.4: Development of Adaptive Management Plan of the Study Area within the framework of ITTO Project PD 210/03 Rev. 3 (F) entitled Participatory Establishment of Collaborative Sustainable Forest Management in Dusun Aro ,Jambi. We would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to our colleagues from Provincial Forest Services of Jambi, District Forest Services of Batanghari, Village Communities of Senami Baru, Sridadi and Bungku for their continuous faith and support. Our gratefulness is also conveyed to the members of Project Steering Committee for strategic decision and constructive comments and suggestions.
