Perilaku Ekonomi Nelayan Rajungan dalam Kerangka Industrialisasi Perikanan
Abstract
This research is aimed to analyze the economic behavior of rajungan fisher in fisheries industrialization and to examine the relationship between individual characteristics of respondents, fisher’s business and external’s intervention to fisher’s economic behavior. The research used the quantitative method supported by the qualitative method. Overall, the economic behavior of fishers was poor, indicated by their low awareness to rajungan’s quality, traditional technology, high consumption, and ineffective allocation of labor. The result of variable test shows that few variables have a correlation with economic behavior. There is a negative correlation between age and consumption behavior. This means that the lower age of rajungan fishers, the higher consumption behavior. The positive correlation is shown by level of income with allocation of labor, which means that the higher income of rajungan fishers, the higher allocation of labor. The positive correlation is shown by level of knowledge with orientation of quality, which means that the higher knowledge of rajungan fishers, the higher orientation of quality. The correlation between fisher’s business characteristics and external’s intervention is significantly high.
