The Effectiveness of Political Communication on Saba Desa Program (Case: Saba Desa Program in Bojong Sempu and Hambalang Village, Bogor Regency).

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to describe the effectiveness of political communication on leader citizen dialog, 2) to analyze correlation between internal characteristics and message receptivity, 3) to analyze correlation between external factors and message receptivity, 4) to analyze correlation between communication factor and message receptivity, (5) to analize correlation between message receptivity and the effectiveness of political communication on leader-citizen dialog. This research used descriptive-correlational design, with accidental sampling as sampling method. This research was conducted in Bojong Sempu Village, Parung Sub-district and Hambalang Village, Citeureup Sub district. In this research, 71 peoples were taken as respondents. Rank Spearman and Coefficient Contingency were used as data analysis method. This research showed that: (1) Majority of Saba Desa participant saw communicator had a good image. Moreover Majority of Saba Desa Participants have a plan to follow up direction from the communicator, (2) there were significant correlation between revenue rate and motivation rate with message receptivity, (3) there were no significant correlation between social interaction and media exposure with message receptivity, (4) Authority dimension had significant correlation with message receptivity, (5) Message receptivity also had a significant correlation with the effectiveness of political communication. Attention and understanding dimension had a significant correlation with the effectiveness of political communication.
