      Abstract
      At 2007 to 2011, the production of tomatoes in Cianjur fluctuated that indicated production risks. The selling price of tomatoes which fluctuates between January and December 2012 also indicates the price risk. The objectives of this research were to analyze the effect of production factors on production risks which were faced by tomato farmers in Gekbrong, and to analyze the level of price risk which were faced by tomato farmers in Gekbrong. This research used Just and Pope’s production function model to analyze the effect of production factors on production risks. Value of variance, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation were used to calculate the level of price risk. Based on calculations, the manure and potassium fertilizer were the risk inducing factors. While nitrogen fertilizer, phosphor fertilizer, liquid insecticides, leaf fertilizer, fungicide, and dry season were the risk reducing factors. Based on the value of variance, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation, the selling of tomatoes to cooperation has lower level risk than selling tomatoes to middleman
       
      Pada 2007 sampai 2011, produksi tomat di Kabupaten Cianjur mengalami fluktuasi yang mengindikasikan adanya risiko produksi. Harga jual tomat yang berfluktuasi antara Januari sampai Desember 2012 juga mengindikasikan adanya risiko harga. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh faktor-faktor produksi terhadap risiko produksi yang dihadapi oleh petani tomat di Desa Gekbrong, serta menganalisis tingkat risiko harga yang dihadapi oleh petani tomat di Desa Gekbrong. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan model fungsi produksi Just and Pope untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor produksi yang mempengaruhi risiko produksi. Perhitungan nilai varians, standar deviasi, dan koefisien variasi dilakukan untuk menghitung tingkat risiko harga. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, pupuk kandang dan pupuk unsur K menjadi faktor yang menimbulkan risiko. Sedangkan pupuk unsur N, pupuk unsur P, insektisida cair, pupuk daun, fungisida, dan musim kemarau menjadi faktor yang mengurangi risiko. Dilihat dari nilai varians, standar deviasi, maupun koefisien variasi, penjualan tomat ke koperasi memiliki tingkat risiko yang lebih rendah dibandingkan menjual tomat ke pengumpul.
