Pengaruh Ketersediaan Infrastruktur Terhadap Ketimpangan Pendapatan: Analisis Provinsi di Indonesia 2007-2011

Abstract

Infrastructure is an input in production process which is able to give the increasing of marginal productivity to the output. The proper and right infrastructure can help and encourage many economic activities. The difference of availability in some areas can cause the difference of area’s ability in doing many economic activities. The goal of this research is to analyze the availability of infrastructure to the gap of per capita income in Indonesia. This research uses panel data method, cross section data from 33 provinces in Indonesia, time series data from 2007 – 2011, and also six variables, those gini ratio, length of road ratio, water, electricity, school, and number of beds available in hospital. The result of panel data method’s analysis shows that infrastructure’s availability like school and water gives good influence to the income gap, whereas the infrastructure’s availability like electricity, length of road, and bed for hospital gives positive influence to the income gap.

Infrastruktur merupakan suatu input dalam proses produksi yang dapat memberikan peningkatan produktivitas marjinal pada output. Infrastruktur yang layak dan tepat dapat membantu mendorong berbagai kegiatan ekonomi. Perbedaan ketersediannya antardaerah bisa menimbulkan perbedaan kemampuan daerah dalam menjalankan berbagai aktivitas ekonomi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis ketersediaan infrastruktur terhadap ketimpangan pendapatan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode panel data, data cross section dari 33 provinsi di Indonesia, data time series periode 2007-2011, dan menggunakan enam variabel, yaitu gini ratio, rasio panjang jalan, air, listrik, sekolah, dan tempat tidur rumah sakit. Hasil analisis metode data panel menunjukkan ketersediaan infrastruktur sekolah dan air berpengaruh negatif terhadap ketimpangan pendapatan, sedangkan ketersediaan infrastruktur listrik, panjang jalan, dan ranjang rumah sakit berpengaruh positif terhadap ketimpangan pendapatan.
