Motivasi, Perilaku Menonton dan Pemanfaatan Materi Siaran Televisi oleh Petani

Abstract

This study aims to examine the motivation and watching behaviour of farmers in watching television along with the factors which directs motivation in relation to the utilization of television broadcast material. This research involved a number of farmers in Karehkel Village Leuwiliang District Bogor Regency. Watching motivation is quite high among farmers, especially the motivation of entertainment. Watching behaviour of farmers is quite often with high duration. Generally farmers watch in the morning and evening at their home with family and watch information and entertainment programs. Farmers characteristics that significantly correlated to watching motivation include age and income level. Watching motivation that significantly correlated to watching behaviour include motivation of information, motivation of personal identity, motivation of integration and social interaction, and motivation of entertainment. Watching behaviour that significantly correlated to the utilization of television broadcast material include watching frequency, watching duration, watching location, and watching habits.
