Distribusi Spasial-Temporal Rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) di Perairan Pesisir Lampung Timur, Lampung

Abstract

Blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) is an economically important commodity in fisheries of Indonesia. The coastal waters of East Lampung is one of blue swimming crab fishing area. Distribution and abundance of this species was changing every month and basic scientific information of their distribution has not available. The purpose of this research is to identify the spatial and temporal abundance and biomass of crab. The data was collected by using 3 (three) units of bottom set gill nets in every sampling station of each month during March-August 2012 and noted the number and weight of the crab and non-target species. Those abundance and biomass data of each gillnet was standardized based on the longest gill net used in sampling. The results showed that the average abundance and biomass of the crab are significant different for both spatially and temporally, as well as each sexuality or by total. The highest average of abundance and biomass obtained on the area representing the coastal waters in the Northern as spatially, that is from Way Seputih to the Cape of Sekopong whiles temporally in March.

Rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) merupakan komoditas perikanan yang bernilai ekonomis penting di Indonesia. Perairan pesisir Lampung Timur adalah salah satu daerah penangkapan rajungan. Distribusi dan kelimpahan rajungan di daerah tersebut selama ini berubah-ubah setiap bulannya, tetapi informasi dasar secara ilmiah belum tersedia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi kelimpahan dan biomassa rajungan secara spasial dan temporal. Data yang diambil adalah jumlah dan bobot rajungan serta non-target dengan menggunakan 3 (tiga) unit jaring insang tetap disetiap lokasi pengambilan contoh per-bulan dari Maret-Agustus 2012, kemudian data tersebut dikonversi menjadi data kelimpahan dan biomassa yang distandarisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelimpahan dan biomassa rata-rata rajungan berbeda nyata berdasarkan area dan stratifikasi (spasial) serta waktu (temporal), baik perjenis kelamin maupun secara total. Kelimpahan dan biomassa rata-rata tertinggi diperoleh pada area yang mewakili perairan pesisir di sebelah utara, yaitu dari muara Way Seputih hingga Tanjung Sekopong secara spasial dan pada bulan Maret secara temporal.
