A study using 4 cows was done to know the effect of classical music on physiological responses of Fries Holland (FH) cows. Heart rate, respiration rate and resting time were measured for 15 days at 12.00 – 15.30. The study was done for 45 days that divided into 3 periods. The first 15 days period as before treatment, a second 15-day as treatment period, and the rest 15 after treatment period. The data were analyzed by t-test: paired two sample for means. The results showed there was a decreasing in heart rate on the before treatment period 83 ± 6 times/minute to 76 ± 9 times/minute during treatment period. The similiar result was also found in respiration rate, there was a decreasing in the before treatment period from 56 ± 11 times/minute to 50 ± 15 times/minute as a treatment period. There was enlongation of resting time during the second period compare to the other period. Classical music increased the length of resting time from 26 ± 17 minutes in before treatment period to 27 ± 16 minutes during treatment period. It was concluded that classical music can decrease heart rate and respiration rate. The Classical music also can make dairy cattle calm and take rest longer
