      Abstract
Based on the result of High Conservation Value (HCV) study, which performed by Tim Terpadu (2010a, 2010b, 2010c) in PT Sawit Kapuas Kencana (PT SKK), PT Paramitra Internusa Pratama (PT PIP) and PT Persada Graha Mandiri (PT PGM), there has been found respectively 259, 225 and 149 plant species. Nevertheless, data and information about the potential of useful plants were unknown yet. In order to support its conservation and utilization efforts, all data and information about potential of useful plants was critically required, thus this research was required. The objective of this research was to identify the potential of useful plants in palm plantation area in Kapuas Hulu district, West Kalimantan province. This research performed at Section of Plants Diversity Conservation, Department of Forest Resource Conservation and Ecotourism, Forestry Faculty of Bogor Agricultural University (BAU), library of Forestry Faculty and LSI library of BAU at April to June 2011. Collected data and information in this research included primary and secondary data. Primary data collected by observation and literature review, while secondary data collected by literature review. Result identification shows that 355 species of useful plants, which classified into 88 families, found in study area with detail: PT SKK (225 species and 77 families), PT PIP (208 species and 65 families) and PT PGM (140 species and 46 families). Useful plants, in this research, was classified into 13 groups; those are: medicine (PT SKK: 100 species, PT PIP: 60 species and PT PGM: 38 species), ornament (PT SKK: 25 species, PT PIP: 22 species and PT PGM: 9 species), aromatic (PT SKK: 12 species, PT PIP: 12 species and PT PGM: 8 species), food (PT SKK: 62 species, PT PIP: 44 species and PT PGM: 35 species), feed (PT SKK: 21 species, PT PIP: 14 species and PT PGM: 6 species), herbal pesticide (PT SKK: 4 species, PT PIP: 4 species and PT PGM: 3 species), fibre (PT SKK: 6 species, PT PIP: 5 species and PT PGM: 1 species), colour and tannin (PT SKK: 24 species, PT PIP: 17 species and PT PGM: 13 species), construction material (PT SKK: 69 species, PT PIP: 58 species and PT PGM: 35 species), traditional custom material (PT SKK: 13 species, PT PIP: 11 species and PT PGM: 10 species), rope, plait and handicraft material (PT SKK: 21 species, PT PIP: 22 species and PT PGM: 16 species), fuel (PT SKK: 23 species, PT PIP: 17 species and PT PGM: 16 species) and others (PT SKK: 21 species, PT PIP: 18 species and PT PGM: 12 species).
