Hot pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the important vegetable in Indonesia, but it’s production is still unoptimum. An alternative solution to increase hot pepper productivity is by developing and using superior hybrid varieties. The aims of this research were to describe morphological and agronomical characters of some potential hybrid varieties and to estimate their production. The experiment was conducted by using Randomized Block Design with one treatment (pepper’s genotype) and the blocks were prepared as triplicate. The result showed that there were diversity on morphological traits especially for the character of leave, stem, and habitus. There were also diversity in agronomical traits i.e. the number of fruits per plants, fruit weight per plant, the diameter of fruit, fruit length, and the number of seeds per fruit. Hybrid of LR x GD1 showed the highest number fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, and plant height. Hybrid of GD2 x CD1 showed the highest value in diameter and length of fruit, and the number of seeds per fruit. Based on estimation of the productivity, LR x GD1 (9,50 ton/ha), CJ x CD1 (9,40 ton/ha), and GD2 x CD2 (8,02 ton/ha) are the potential hybrids with high production. LR x GD1 and CJ x CD1 have curly fruit type, whereas GD2 x CD2 has big fruit type. They have erect plant growth habit.
