Pengelolaan Lanskap Habitat Musim Dingin Sikep Madu Asia (Pernis ptylorhynchus) Berbasis Satellite Tracking Di Kalimantan Tengah
Abstract
Knowledge about landscape characteristic of oriental honey buzzard (OHB) in the context of wintering habitat is a prerequisite for understanding their wintering as well as managing their habitats. This study intends to identify landscape characteristic of wintering habitat of OHB (core and edge habitat) in Central Kalimantan and to recommend management plan of wintering landscape habitat of OHB in Central Kalimantan. Geospatial Information System (GIS) combined with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used for analyzing several environmental variables in order to identify the characteristic in both core and edge habitats. Nine principal components (PCs) were retained and explained by 78,7% and 77,9% of the data variance in landscape characteristic of core and edge habitat, respectively. T-Student test method was used to compare environmental variables between core and edge habitat and also to compare with previous study in South Kalimantan, then the result was significantly different. Management of wintering habitat can be planed within a certain period (short term and long term) and specific location (core and edge habitat).
