Aplikasi Spreadsheet Sebagai Pengolah Data Spasial
Abstract
Spatial data is the data type that stores local information. Meteorological phenomena are spatial data, so it is important to have ability to process it. Generally, spatial data are processed by a specific computer that required both specific hardware and software. This is become a constraint in spatial data processing. This research aims to develop an additional feature to the common spreadsheet software, so it can be easily used to analyze spatial data and produce an image as it output. The additional feature is called EXACT (EXcel as spreadsheet Application for spatial data proCessing Tool).Thisis a spreadsheet-based application developed byutilizing the Microsoft Excel macro and add-in features.Macro featuresare usedas compiler of the programming languagetomakethe main functionof the application, which using Visual Basic for Application (VBA) as the programming language. The purpose of using add-in features is to make this application can be easily implemented. This application has been successfullyperformed a simple spatial data processing. The examples of data processing that has been done are to process raster data into image and use image processing functions contained in the application to obtain the required information. The other functions that has succesfully performed by EXACT areoverlaying multiple images, calculate the length of the coastline, and calculate the area of canopy closure. The excelence of this application is more flexible to implemented, as it is built on the basis of spreadsheets that do not require specification of a particular computer, and also it is easy to use. A software that used to convert an image to raster data is also prepared to supply an equivalent spreadsheet data for EXACT. The software is called GetPixels. With the addition of software GetPixels, EXACT are capable to process information in the form of images, such as photos, satellite imagery, and published weather elements information by Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency. Thus allows EXACT to process any form of spatial data, so both spreadsheet and image can be analyzed.
